Strengthening the brotherly bond in Jeddah
During his stay in Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister held a “restricted” session with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. According to Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, the interaction was characterized by deep warmth and a mutual commitment to regional stability. These talks are particularly significant following Saudi Arabia’s recent $8 billion financial support package for Pakistan and the ongoing joint security cooperation in the Gulf.
A stop for prayer and reflection
Before departing for Qatar, the Prime Minister and his delegation arrived in Madina, where they were received by Governor Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. In a rare gesture, the gates of the Prophet’s Chamber (SAW) were opened for the Prime Minister, who offered prayers for the prosperity of Pakistan and a lasting resolution to the conflicts currently impacting the Middle East.

The Qatari and Turkish legs of the mission
In Doha, the Prime Minister’s discussions with the Emir of Qatar are expected to center on energy cooperation and the broader security situation in the Middle East. Qatar remains a vital partner for Pakistan, especially as both nations navigate the economic and logistical challenges posed by recent regional hostilities.
Following his engagements in Doha, PM Shehbaz will fly to Turkiye. He is scheduled to participate in the fifth Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where he will represent Pakistan on a panel of world leaders. This forum provides a global stage for the Prime Minister to detail Pakistan’s recent success in mediating between Washington and Tehran and to advocate for a permanent end to regional warfare.
Mediation and de-escalation efforts
The Prime Minister’s tour is part of a broader strategy to solidify the fragile ceasefire he helped broker in Islamabad. By engaging with the key leadership of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkiye, Pakistan is looking to transition from a temporary truce to a sustainable diplomatic framework that ensures long-term regional harmony.
