Lahore | October 25, 2025: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested six individuals, including the alleged ringleader of a trafficking network, for their involvement in the illegal trade and transplantation of human organs in Punjab.
An FIA spokesperson said on Friday that the arrests were made by the agency’s Anti-Corruption Circle in Lahore as part of an ongoing operation targeting those engaged in unlawful kidney transplants. The operation follows several recent complaints and intelligence reports about the growing illicit organ trade in the province.
According to preliminary investigations, the suspects were involved in the illegal purchase, sale, and transplantation of human kidneys, often exploiting vulnerable individuals in financial distress. The FIA said the group charged patients exorbitant amounts for transplants and carried out the procedures in private hospitals without proper medical or legal authorization.

Officials added that the accused were also found preparing fake tissue-matching and laboratory reports to bypass medical regulations. These falsified documents were allegedly used to conduct surgeries under the guise of legal transplants.
The FIA has seized evidence, including forged medical records and digital data, and further investigations are underway to identify doctors, medical staff, or facilitators who may be linked to the network.

The arrested suspects have been remanded in custody for further interrogation, and a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the law dealing with human organ and tissue transplantation.
