KARACHI, May 11 — Police officials reported on Monday that 25 sacrificial goats, valued at approximately Rs1.9 million, were stolen from an empty plot in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Block 8. The incident occurred on Saturday night when a group of suspects arrived in a Suzuki van and overpowered the watchman stationed to guard the animals. Despite the significant financial loss, the owner has shown reluctance to formally lodge a First Information Report (FIR), though police have already obtained CCTV footage from the vicinity to track the perpetrators.

While the police are prepared to pursue the case using the available digital evidence, they emphasized that the owner’s cooperation is essential for a formal investigation. The surge in high-value livestock theft often spikes during this period, leading to increased calls for security at makeshift cattle pens across the city. Authorities have urged citizens to utilize more secure facilities and ensure verified security personnel are employed to guard expensive sacrificial animals.
