Aroob Aftab, wife of famous YouTuber Saad ur Rehman alias Ducky Bhai, registered an FIR with the Anti-Corruption Circle Lahore of the Federal Investigation Agency FIA against the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) officers’ misuse of authority.

The case became famous first when Ducky Bhai was arrested over allegations of promoting gambling apps via his YouTube videos. The case took an interesting turn when six officers of NCCIA disappeared, allegedly abducted by another law enforcement or security agency. Later on, FIA announced their arrest on charges of corruption.

Aroob alleged that nine officers, including six who had disappeared, demanded and took bribes of millions in this case to facilitate her and her husband.

A total of nine NCCIA officers have been nominated in the FIR, including Additional Director Sarfraz, Lahore NCCIA Deputy Director (acting in charge) Zawar Ahmad, Lahore NCCIA Sub-Inspector Ali Raza, Lahore NCCIA Assistant Director Shoaib Riaz, Lahore NCCIA Sub-Inspector Yasir Ramzan, and Lahore NCCIA Assistant Director Mujtaba Zafar.

The FIR has been registered under Sections 109 (punishment for abetment if the act abetted is committed in consequence and where no express provision is made for its punishment) and 161 (public servant taking gratification other than legal remuneration in respect to an official act) of the Pakistan Penal Code, read with Section 5(2)47 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, which deals with criminal misconduct by public servants.

Aroob herself is on extended bail in similar cases, and the court is investigating the matter.
