KHUZDAR: Four bullet-riddled bodies were recovered on Thursday from two separate locations along the Quetta–Karachi National Highway, sending a wave of fear across Kalat and Khuzdar districts.

According to officials, residents alerted the local administration after spotting the bodies dumped by the roadside in Badarang (Kalat) and Zehri (Khuzdar). Police teams rushed to the scenes and shifted the bodies to nearby district hospitals for identification and medical examination.

Three Cousins Killed in Kalat

In the Badarang area of Kalat district, police found three bodies lying close to the highway. Officials said the victims—each bearing multiple bullet injuries—appeared to have been shot dead by unidentified assailants before being abandoned at the site.

Initial inquiries revealed that all three men belonged to the Lehri tribe and were cousins. Police have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the killings, though no arrests had been reported as of Thursday evening.

One Body Found in Khuzdar’s Zehri Area

In a separate incident, another bullet-riddled body was recovered from the Samwani area of Zehri tehsil in Khuzdar district. As in the earlier case, the victim appeared to have been shot dead before the body was dumped.

Police shifted the remains to the local hospital and have begun efforts to identify the deceased.

Investigations Underway

Authorities have not yet determined whether the two incidents are linked. Police said the methods used in both cases point toward targeted killings, but further investigation is needed to ascertain motives and perpetrators.

The bodies will be handed over to families once identification is confirmed and legal formalities are completed. Police say they are working with intelligence agencies to track down those responsible.
