The IMF Third Review Mission is scheduled to begin technical talks in Islamabad today. The government is optimistic that PM Shehbaz’s successful Doha trip—which secured a commitment for a Pak-Qatar Task Force meeting in Ramadan, will provide the necessary external financing assurances the Fund requires.

Market Watch (Feb 25, 2026):

  • PSX: After losing over 5,400 points on Monday, the market is showing a slight “pre-open” stabilization today. The KSE-100 is currently hovering around 166,258 points.

  • Gold: Prices have surged significantly. In Pakistan, 24K gold rose by Rs 3,400, currently trading at a record high of Rs 539,962 per tola.
