According to the latest forecast from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued on February 24, 2026, here is the likely timeline for the end of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid ul-Fitr:

The Forecast

  • Likely Date for Eid: March 21, 2026 (Saturday).
  • Ramadan Duration: Fasting is expected to last for 30 days this year.
  • Moon Sighting Attempt: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (RHC) will meet on March 19 (the 29th of Ramadan). However, the PMD predicts the crescent is unlikely to be visible on that evening.
  • Visibility: There is a “strong likelihood” that the Shawwal crescent will be visible on the evening of March 20.
