ORAKZAI, October 8, 2025 — Orakzai operation October 2025. In one of the deadliest encounters in recent months, 11 Pakistani soldiers, including a Lieutenant Colonel and a Major, were martyred during an intelligence-based operation against Khawarij militants and Indian-backed terrorism in Pakistan in the Orakzai district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In October 2025, 11 soldiers were martyred in Orakzai during a fierce gun battle against Khawarij militants. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the overnight operation (October 7–8) targeted members of the Fitnat-ul-Khawarij, an Indian proxy group active in the region. Nineteen terrorists were killed in the intense exchange of fire.
Among the martyrs were Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Arif (39) and Major Tayyab Rahat (33), both residents of Rawalpindi, who led the operation from the front. The ISPR praised their valor and leadership.

The operation also claimed the lives of nine other soldiers, including:
- Naik Subedar Azam Gul (38) – Khyber District
- Naik Adil Hussain (35) – Kurram District
- Naik Gul Aamir (34) – Tank District
- Lance Naik Sher Khan (31) – Mardan District
- Lance Naik Talash Faraz (32) – Mansehra District
- Lance Naik Arshad Hussain (32) – Kurram District
- Sepoy Tufail Khan (28) – Malakand District
- Sepoy Aaqib Ali (23) – Swabi District
- Sepoy Muhammad Zahid (24) – Tank District
The ISPR confirmed that clearing operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining threat from Indian-backed terrorism in Pakistan. “These sacrifices will not go in vain. The Pakistan Army remains fully committed to wiping out all terrorist elements from the country,” the statement read.
