BAHAWALPUR: The Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority and Municipal Corporation on Wednesday launched an extensive anti-encroachment operation in Mailiwali Gali on Baghdad Road. Heavy machinery was deployed to demolish illegal structures, including unauthorised shop extensions, that were obstructing public pathways. Pushcarts belonging to fruit and vegetable vendors were removed and shifted outside the main street.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Farhan Farooq personally inspected the operation, alongside Pera official Asghar Ali and local administration officers. He directed officials to ensure that encroachers do not reoccupy the cleared spaces and appealed to traders to cooperate with authorities in maintaining an orderly environment. The operation aims to restore smooth traffic flow and uphold city-wide cleanliness and anti-encroachment regulations.
