QUETTA: The Balochistan government has announced the establishment of a Business Facilitation Centre (BFC) as part of its broader Digitisation Programme, aimed at improving the ease of doing business and attracting investment to the province.
Officials said the soft launch of the centre will take place on January 21 at the Sikandar Jamali Auditorium in the Civil Secretariat, Quetta. The facility is designed to operate as a one-window platform for first-time entrepreneurs, investors and industrialists, enabling them to start or expand businesses through a streamlined process.
According to government officials, the BFC will bring together multiple government departments under one roof to provide essential permits, registrations, licences and other related documentation. This is expected to reduce the need for applicants to visit several offices and deal with lengthy administrative procedures.

The initiative is aimed at addressing long-standing complaints from the business community regarding bureaucratic hurdles, procedural delays and lack of coordination among departments. By centralising services, the provincial government hopes to shorten approval timelines and improve overall efficiency.
Officials said the entire system has been made fully digital, allowing applicants to submit requests online and track the progress of their applications in real time. The digital framework is intended to enhance transparency and accountability by minimising manual intervention and reducing the chances of unnecessary delays.

“The Business Facilitation Centre will serve as a single point of contact for investors and entrepreneurs, making government processes simpler and more predictable,” an official involved in the project said. He added that the initiative would help build investor confidence and create a more business-friendly environment in the province.
The centre is expected to play a key role in promoting investment in sectors such as mining, agriculture, manufacturing and services, which the provincial government considers vital for economic growth and job creation.
Officials said training has been provided to relevant staff to ensure smooth coordination among departments and effective use of the digital system. Additional services and departments may be added to the BFC in phases based on feedback from users.
Members of the business community have cautiously welcomed the move, saying its success will depend on effective implementation and sustained political support. They stressed that reducing red tape and ensuring timely decision-making would be crucial in translating the initiative into tangible economic benefits.
The provincial government said it views the Business Facilitation Centre as a cornerstone of its digitisation and governance reform agenda, with the ultimate goal of improving service delivery and encouraging private-sector-led development in Balochistan.
