Booby-Trapped Target in Abandoned Post
According to police statements, the incident took place in the remote Faqeeri Banr area of Hassan Khel. The target was an abandoned police checkpost that had been lying vacant.
Security planners reported that the attackers set a deliberate trap. Insurgents first triggered a preliminary IED inside the structure, causing minor structural damage to draw in responding units. A second, more complex IED was then left unexploded inside the wreckage. When Rehman arrived at the scene and began neutralization procedures, the device went off mid-operation, killing him instantly.
