DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 12: At least 14 security personnel were injured on Tuesday when a remote-controlled Bomb Attack targeted a security convoy in the Daraban tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan district, officials said.
According to security sources, the explosion — caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) — struck one of the vehicles in the convoy, causing heavy damage. The injured were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) D.I. Khan, where three were reported to be in critical condition.
Soon after the attack, additional contingents of police and security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search and clearance operation to track down the perpetrators.
The incident occurred as security forces were already engaged in a clearance operation at Cadet College Wana in North Waziristan, following a terrorist infiltration on Monday. While all teachers and students were safely evacuated, efforts to neutralise the remaining attackers continued.
A day earlier, the military reported killing 20 militants in separate intelligence-based operations in North Waziristan and Dara Adam Khel, while four others were eliminated in Balochistan’s Kalat district.
The attack, said to be a remotely controlled IED, targeted a security forces convoy, said security sources.

Pakistan has witnessed a surge in militant attacks in recent months, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan’s decision to end its ceasefire with the government in 2022.
Separately, police in Bannu district said they foiled an attack on Ahmadzai Police Station early Tuesday after armed militants attempted to storm the building. According to KP Police, officers responded swiftly, repelling the assault and killing or injuring several attackers, whose bodies were later removed by their accomplices.
In a separate intelligence-based operation, police killed two wanted militants — Fazlullah alias Hanzala and Saifur Rehman — in Bannu’s Mamakhel Havaid area. The suspects were said to be involved in targeted killings of police officials.
