India is Killing Kashmiri Leaders in Jails

Oct 29, 2025 | Editorial

29 October 2025- Prominent Kashmir Leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has issued a video statement on his official X(formerly Twitter) account about the deteriorating health condition of prominent Kashmiri leaders in Indian Jails in the absence of appropriate health care and living facilities.

In his statement, he mentioned how the families of Yasin Malik and Shabbir Shah mentioned that both of them are in the worst of their mental and physical conditions, and no appropriate healthcare facilities are being provided to them.

It’s crucial to note that India has imprisoned these leaders on false allegations of militancy and facilitation, although they are both peaceful political leaders. Yasin Malik is not even a pro-Pakistan, but rather a separatist nationalist. Still, the Modi government has falsely sentenced him to life imprisonment.

Human rights organizations have expressed their concerns over the slow genocide happening in India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The imprisonment of Kashmiri leaders is part of the process. The world must take notice and urge the world’s largest so-called democracy to release all the falsely imprisoned leaders and other innocent Kashmiri prisoners.
