ISPR Issues Stern Warning to India Amid Rising Tensions

Oct 5, 2025 | Current Affairs

The Pakistan Army on Saturday issued a strong warning to India, cautioning that any future conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbours could result in “cataclysmic devastation.”

The warning came in response to provocative statements by India’s defence minister and military leadership. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan “shall not hold back but will respond resolutely, without any qualms or restraint” in case of renewed hostilities.

Highlights

  • ISPR warns any future conflict with India could lead to “cataclysmic devastation.”
  • Pakistani military vows to respond “swiftly, decisively and destructively” if provoked.
  • Army slams “delusional and jingoistic” statements by Indian leadership.
  • Warns India that talk of “erasing Pakistan” would lead to mutual destruction.
  • Statements come after Indian officials’ aggressive rhetoric following their May military setback.

“Delusional and Jingoistic” Remarks Condemned

“We have noted with grave concern the delusional, provocative and jingoistic statements coming from the highest levels of the Indian security establishment,” the ISPR said.

The military statement warned that such “irresponsible statements” indicate a renewed attempt to fabricate pretexts for aggression, which could have serious consequences for peace and stability in South Asia.

The remarks by India’s leadership follow their military’s humiliating setback during the May conflict, when several Indian warplanes — including Rafales — were lost in engagements with Pakistani forces.

Indian Leadership’s Escalatory Tone

On Friday, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi warned Pakistan to end “state-sponsored terrorism” or risk being wiped off the map, claiming that this time Indian forces would show “no restraint.”

The same day, Indian Air Force Chief Amar Preet Singh repeated unsubstantiated claims that five Pakistani fighter jets were downed during the May conflict.

Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also made defiant remarks earlier in the week, asserting India’s military capability to defeat any challenge.

Pakistan’s “New Normal” of Response

In reply, the ISPR stressed that Pakistan has set a new normal of response — one that is swift, decisive, and destructive.

“In the face of unwarranted threats and reckless aggression, the people and the armed forces of Pakistan have the capability and resolve to take the fight to every nook and corner of the enemy’s territory,” the statement said.

It added that Pakistan would shatter the myth of geographic immunity, warning that even the farthest reaches of Indian territory would not be spared in the event of conflict.

“As for the talk of erasing Pakistan from the map, India must know that if the situation comes, the erasure will be mutual,” ISPR declared.

Rebutting India’s Narrative

For decades, ISPR noted, India has played the victim card to malign Pakistan while stoking violence and instability in the region. That narrative, it stated, has now been exposed, with the world recognizing India as “the true face of cross-border terrorism and the epicentre of regional instability.”

Referring to the earlier escalation this year, ISPR reminded India of “the wreckage of its fighter jets and the wrath of Pakistan’s long-range vectors,” accusing New Delhi of collective amnesia and a renewed appetite for confrontation.

Strategic Context

The military’s statement reflects sharply deteriorating rhetoric between the two sides in the aftermath of the May conflict — one of the most intense flare-ups in recent years. With both nations possessing nuclear capabilities, the stakes remain dangerously high.
