‘Karachi Blooms’: French Artist Chifumi Unveils a Monument to Global Unity

The Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) has welcomed a stunning, vibrant new public artwork to its grounds with the inauguration of the mural ‘Karachi Blooms.’ Created by acclaimed French artist Chifumi, the massive mural is a lasting symbol of global unity, friendship, and the city’s vibrant cultural resurgence.

Unveiled on Monday, November 25, 2025, as part of the ongoing World Culture Festival, the mural is the result of 10 days of intensive, dedicated work by the French painter, transforming a key facade of the Arts Council building.

The Art of International Exchange

‘Karachi Blooms’ is a dynamic visual masterpiece that weaves together elements of local Pakistani culture, contemporary art, and universal themes of peace.

Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah praised the work, stating that the mural serves as an “enduring symbol of friendship and artistic collaboration” between France and Pakistan. Shah expressed a commitment to supporting more mural art across the city, aiming to “let art be visible throughout the city.”

This project marked Chifumi’s first visit to Pakistan. He expressed immense gratitude for the warm reception he received, calling the experience a profound cultural exchange. His hope is that the visibility of this major public artwork will inspire mural art to “flourish in Karachi,” enhancing the city’s aesthetic vibrancy and fostering cultural dialogue among its residents.

The ‘Karachi Blooms’ mural now stands as a colorful, powerful landmark, attracting both art enthusiasts and social media influencers, and confirming Karachi’s role as a vital hub for international artistic collaboration.
