ISLAMABAD, Sept 12 — The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has postponed the upcoming Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) in view of devastating floods across Punjab and other provinces, the Ministry of Health announced Friday.

New Exam Date
- The MDCAT, earlier scheduled for October 5, will now be held on October 26 (Sunday).
- The decision was taken after consultations with provincial representatives, AJK, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
- Health Minister Mustafa Kamal directed the postponement, citing the “difficulties faced by students in flood-hit areas.”
Equal Opportunities for Students
- Minister Kamal said the government is “committed to ensuring equal educational opportunities for every student.”
- Around 200,000 candidates are expected to appear for the test this year.
Exam Centers
The exam will be conducted at designated universities across the country:
- Punjab: University of Health Sciences, Lahore
- Sindh: Sukkur IBA University
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Khyber Medical University, Peshawar
- Balochistan: Bolan University of Medical & Health Sciences, Quetta
- ICT, AJK & GB: Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad
- Overseas venue: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
