ISLAMABAD, Sept 13 — Petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to increase by up to Rs1.54 per litre from September 16, while high-speed diesel (HSD) may see a sharper rise of Rs4.79 per litre, industry sources said Saturday.

Possible Adjustments
- Petrol: +Rs1.54/litre
- High-Speed Diesel: +Rs4.79/litre
- Kerosene: +Rs3.06/litre
- Light Diesel: +Rs3.68/litre
Decision Process
- OGRA will submit its final working to the Petroleum Division on Sept 15.
- Petroleum Division & Finance Ministry will forward recommendations to the prime minister.
- New rates will be notified after PM’s approval.
Recent Pricing Trend
- On Sept 1, govt cut HSD by Rs3 per litre to Rs269.99, while petrol stayed at Rs264.61.
- Kerosene and light diesel also saw small reductions earlier this month.
- Pricing is reviewed fortnightly, based on international oil rates, exchange movements, and levies.
If approved, this would mark the first upward revision in petrol after two consecutive fortnights of relief.
