Islamabad — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched the Rs38 billion Ramazan Relief Package 2026 on Saturday, February 14, 2026, under which 12.1 million deserving households across Pakistan will receive Rs13,000 each via digital wallets during the holy month of Ramadan.
The programme aims to ease the financial burden on low-income families during Ramadan by providing direct cash assistance through secure digital channels, ensuring transparency and timely delivery.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, PM Shehbaz said the government overcame significant hurdles in designing the programme, including banks’ willingness to participate, limited digital infrastructure in parts of the country, and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) operational challenges.
“This year, Rs38 billion has been allocated for this purpose,” he said. “The amount will not only be distributed among deserving beneficiaries across all four provinces, but also in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, through digital wallets and bank accounts.”
He added that the stipend allocation has been increased to Rs10 billion to expand support. The prime minister described this as the largest federal effort during Ramadan in terms of scale and complexity.
“I will continue to conduct periodic reviews to ensure that these Rs38 billion are properly distributed,” he assured. He also thanked international partners for their “valuable contributions, interest, and concern,” expressing confidence that collective efforts would make the initiative successful.
The package reflects the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable segments during Ramadan, when food prices often rise, and households face increased expenses. Digital wallets are being used to ensure transparency, reduce leakages, and enable direct benefit transfer.
