Operation Details

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the IBO was launched in Sherani following confirmed intelligence about the presence of terrorists linked to Indian proxies operating under the banner of Fitna al Khawarij, a term used for elements associated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

During the operation, security forces surrounded the hideout and engaged the militants in a fierce exchange of fire. All seven terrorists were neutralized, with the ISPR noting that they had been “actively involved in numerous terrorist activities” in the area.

Weapons and Explosives Seized

The statement added that a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the site. A thorough sanitisation operation is underway to flush out any remaining hostile elements in the region, ensuring long-term stability and security.

Nation’s Resolve Reaffirmed

The ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain fully committed to eliminating Indian-sponsored terrorism and safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity.

“The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country, and reaffirm the nation’s unwavering resolve to bring the perpetrators of terrorism to justice,” the statement said.

Strategic Significance

Sherani district, located in northern Balochistan, has witnessed sporadic militant activity in recent years. Operations like these are crucial in denying space to hostile networks attempting to destabilize the province and undermine Pakistan’s internal security.
