Multiple Security Incidents Reported Across Balochistan; Terror Bid Foiled in Ziarat

DERA MURAD JAMALI / KHUZDAR: Security forces on Sunday repelled an attack on the under-construction Benazir Bhutto Medical College campus near Dera Murad Jamali, as several other violent incidents were reported across Balochistan.

Officials said armed men opened fire at the medical college project site, prompting police and security personnel to rush to the area. A heavy exchange of gunfire ensued, during which three alleged militants were injured. According to security sources, drones were also deployed during the engagement.

The attackers managed to flee the area, taking their injured accomplices with them. No casualties among security personnel or construction workers were reported.

Two bodies recovered in Mangocher

In a separate incident, two men were found shot dead near the Badrang mountain range in Mangocher. Police said the bodies were discovered after residents alerted authorities. The victims were shifted to the district hospital, where officials confirmed that both had sustained multiple bullet wounds.

The deceased were identified as Qutab Ali of Sheikhri village and Ali Muhammad from the Johan area of Kalat district. No arrests were reported, and investigations were underway.

Two killed in Hub shootings

In Hub, a woman and a man were killed in separate gun attacks. Police said unidentified assailants opened fire on a woman, who died on the spot. In another incident, a young man was gunned down in Jam Colony. The identities of both victims were not immediately known, and the motives behind the attacks remained unclear.

Terror plot thwarted in Ziarat; five suspects arrested

Security forces also foiled a suspected terrorist attack in Ziarat district late Sunday, arresting five armed men at a checkpost on the outskirts of the town. Ziarat Deputy Commissioner Riaz Dawar said the suspects were intercepted at the Asperah Raghla checkpost as they attempted to flee.

According to officials, the detainees belonged to Afghanistan’s Kandahar province. Weapons seized during the operation included 11 hand grenades, three submachine guns, two M4 rifles, a grenade launcher, communication devices, ammunition, a motorcycle and literature allegedly linked to the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti commended the security forces, stating that their timely action reflected their continued commitment to protecting the people of the province.

Authorities said further investigations were underway into the incidents reported across Balochistan.
