Peshawar, Pakistan — Security forces killed two most-wanted terrorists affiliated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district on March 25, 2026. The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted the raid within the limits of Gomal police station based on credible intelligence. When the terrorists opened fire upon encountering the CTD team, an exchange of gunfire lasting around 40 minutes ensued. During the subsequent search operation, the two terrorists were found dead, and two Kalashnikovs with six magazines, cartridges, and two bandoliers were recovered from their possession. The slain militants belonged to the TTP’s Mushtaq group and were involved in multiple attacks on police, including the target killing of a head constable, the abduction and murder of another constable, and an attack on a judges’ convoy in Lakki Marwat in August 2024 that claimed the lives of two police personnel.
