The three-day annual Urs celebrations of Sufi saint Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai have commenced at his shrine in Bhit Shah, Matiari district. This marks the 282nd Urs of the revered poet and mystic.
Preparations & Security Measures
- Public Holiday: Sindh government declared August 9 a public holiday across the province.
- Security:
- Section 144 imposed in Bhit Shah from August 7 to 11.
- Over 2,600 police officers, lady constables, and Rangers deployed.
- Town divided into six security sectors.
- Continuous monitoring through CCTV surveillance.
Facilities for Devotees
- Free shuttle service from parking areas to the shrine.
- Shaded rest areas, heatstroke relief camps, and cold water stalls.
- HESCO directed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply.
Hundreds of thousands of devotees from across Pakistan are expected to attend, celebrating Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s message of love, tolerance, and spiritual unity.
