On Sunday, March 29, 2026, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait reported one of the largest coordinated aerial assaults since the regional conflict began on February 28. The UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed that its multi-layered air defense systems intercepted 16 ballistic missiles and 42 drones launched from Iranian territory.
UAE Defense Report: Cumulative Toll and Interceptions
The UAE has emerged as a primary target for Iranian retaliatory strikes due to its hosting of U.S. logistics and military assets.

Kuwaiti Military Camp Struck
Kuwait, which has largely attempted to maintain a neutral diplomatic stance, saw a direct impact on its military infrastructure:
- Casualties: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense reported that 10 soldiers were wounded when an Iranian projectile struck a military camp over the last 24 hours.
- The Incursion: A total of 14 ballistic missiles and 12 drones entered Kuwaiti airspace during this window. While most were intercepted, one “leaker” caused significant material damage to the barracks.
Regional Shield: Bahrain and Beyond
The “integrated regional air defense” (often referred to as the Middle East Air Defense or MEAD) has been working at 100% capacity:
- Bahrain’s Totals: The Bahraini government reported that it has shot down 174 missiles and 391 drones since the conflict began.
- US Base Attacks: Strikes were also confirmed on Sunday against U.S. installations in Jordan, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, specifically targeting the Al-Kharj refueling hub.
A Month of Unprecedented Warfare
The current escalation is a direct result of the February 28 “Decapitation Strike” launched by the U.S. and Israel, which reportedly resulted in the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and several top IRGC commanders.
- Retaliatory Doctrine: Iran’s remaining military leadership has vowed “unlimited punishment” for the coalition, shifting their focus toward the “host nations” (the Gulf states) that allow their soil to be used for U.S. military sorties.
