The 4th European Film Festival (EUFF) 2025 is scheduled to return to Pakistan, commencing its multi-city tour in Islamabad this week. The festival is set to use cinema as a tool for cultural diplomacy and fostering mutual understanding between the European Union and local audiences.
The Islamabad leg of the festival will be held on November 7th and 8th, with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) set to host the two-day event. The program, curated by Olomopolo Media, will feature a broad range of European storytelling, including 19 feature films and 10 short films from EU Member States.

Notable screenings will include the Czech documentary Behind the Curtain of High Mountains, which highlights humanitarian work in Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan region. Family-oriented cinema will also be showcased, featuring the Finnish children’s film Itty Bitty Princess and the Belgian comedy-drama My Dad is a Sausage.

The event will feature special live artistic sessions, including a participatory social dance – Salsa, on Day One and a dramatic reading of Chiaroscuro by Ali Junejo on Day Two. To encourage dialogue amongst peers, the Islamabad segment will host an EUFF’s Pilot Industry Mixer.
