In a massive win for the Pakistani art community, Eeman Masood, a distinguished alumna of the National College of Arts (NCA), has seen her work light up the most iconic billboards in the world. Throughout February 2026, her hand-painted animation titled “There is a voice that doesn’t use words, Listen” is being featured as part of the prestigious Midnight Moment program in Times Square, New York.

The Work: A Tribute to the Banyan
Meticulously painted by hand over several months, the animation is a lyrical meditation on nature and displacement. The piece centers on the banyan tree, a majestic symbol of South Asian culture and native flora to Masood’s birthplace, Lahore.
Shimmering particles of light encircle the tree within a shifting nocturnal landscape, creating a bridge between the earthly and the celestial.
Drawing inspiration from the thoughts of Rumi and Tagore, the work urges viewers to “listen” with their hearts amidst the neon chaos of the city.
A Career of Firsts
Masood, who graduated from NCA in 2021 with a major in miniature painting, has quickly become a global force by blending traditional techniques with contemporary animation.
Before her Times Square debut, her artwork was featured on the Sphere in Las Vegas in 2025.
She is currently on the official longlist for the 2026 Lind Prize in Canada and has received multiple grants, including the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant.
Her animation is synchronized nightly across 92 digital displays from 11:57 PM to Midnight, transforming Times Square into a massive digital gallery.

This achievement places Masood among a select group of international artists whose work has scaled the monumental billboards of Broadway. It’s a proud moment for Lahore, proving that the ancient art of the miniature can captivate a 21st-century global audience.
