DERA MURAD JAMALI / KHUZDAR, Nov 8: At least nine people were killed and two others abducted in multiple firing and abduction incidents across several districts of Balochistan on Saturday, underscoring the province’s fragile security situation.
In Kalat district’s Khaliqabad area, unidentified assailants opened fire on a vehicle in Sarbund, killing four people, including tribal leader Shakir Saadullah Langove and his brother Shakir Khairullah Langove, according to Levies officials. Two other victims were identified as Muhammad Karim and Muhammad Zahir. The attackers fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, and an investigation has been launched.
In Panjgur district, two men were shot dead in the Shpistan area when gunmen on a motorbike opened fire. Police identified the deceased as Muhammad Zafar and Muhammad Naeem. Their bodies were shifted to the district hospital, while authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the killings.

Meanwhile, in Nasirabad district, two excavator drivers employed by a construction company were abducted near Rabi Canal Sufi Wah, close to Notal police station. The victims, Aashiq Ali Mohammad Hasni and Shakeel Ahmed Korai, were kidnapped by unidentified armed men, though their machinery was left behind. Police and security forces have launched a joint search operation for their recovery.
Elsewhere, in Kachhi district, a man identified as Abdul Qadir Kurd was gunned down by unidentified attackers in Goth Misri Khan. The body was shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities before being handed over to his family.
A tribal clash in Jhal Magsi district between members of the Solangi and Wazdani Magsi tribes over a land dispute left one man, Muhammad Bachal Magsi, dead after an exchange of fire in the Hathyari area. The local administration later intervened to restore order.

In Dalbandin (Chagai district), prominent tribal leader Sardar Hussain was shot dead by unidentified gunmen near the district headquarters. Police collected forensic evidence from the site, though the motive remains unknown.
Officials said recent killings and kidnappings across the province have heightened fear among residents and renewed calls for stronger law enforcement and intelligence coordination.
