Pakistan Captures 20 Afghan Checkpoints in Major Border Clash

ISLAMABAD – October 12, 2025 —The Pakistan Army has reportedly captured at least 20 Afghan security checkpoints in retaliatory operations along the Pak-Afghan border in a Major border clash, according to state broadcaster PTV News. These posts were allegedly being used to launch attacks on Pakistani territory.

Security sources said Pakistan targeted Afghan security positions across multiple sectors in a Major border clash, including Kurram, Bajaur, Angoor Adda, Dir, Chitral, and Baramcha (Balochistan), in response to unprovoked fire from Afghan forces. Heavy weaponry, drones, artillery, and tanks were used with precision to neutralize threats.

In several areas in a Major border clash, footage released by state media showed Afghan soldiers surrendering, while others fled their posts, leaving behind casualties and destroyed equipment. At the Zhob sector, Pakistan forces captured a key Taliban checkpoint, destroyed an armored vehicle, and raised the Pakistani flag.

A major strike on the Taliban’s Manojba Camp Battalion Headquarters reportedly led to its destruction. Dozens of Taliban militants and foreign fighters were said to be killed in the operation.

Further strikes targeted hideouts of banned groups like ISIS and the TTP, which Pakistani officials claim operate under the protection of the Afghan interim government. Strategic locations in Baramcha and Angoor Adda were also neutralized.
