Police on Thursday successfully rescued a 66-year-old German tourist who had gone missing during a hiking trip in the scenic Kaghan Valley. According to District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur, the woman lost her way after being separated from her group during a hike on the Chapra track, a popular but rugged trail near Naran.

“After several hours of hectic efforts, our personnel rescued her and shifted her back to her hotel,” DPO Gandapur told journalists.

Upon receiving the alert, authorities immediately mobilised two teams to conduct a search. The operation took place after nightfall, adding to the complexity as the tourist had strayed deep into the thick forest.

Tourists Safely Reunited

The woman was eventually located and brought back to safety after an intensive search. She was reunited with her group, which included four women and three men. The German tourists had been touring the northern areas, entering Kaghan Valley from Babusar Top after spending several days in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Following the incident, the group continued their journey towards Islamabad and planned to return to Germany thereafter.
