Rawalpindi – October 27: Pakistani security forces killed 25 militants, including four suicide bombers, in two separate operations in North Waziristan and Kurram districts after foiling major infiltration attempts from Afghanistan on October 24–25, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

According to the military’s media wing, troops detected movements of two large groups of militants — described as khwarij — trying to cross into Pakistan near Spinwam in North Waziristan and Ghaki in Kurram. “Own troops effectively engaged these groups,” the ISPR said, adding that “fifteen khwarij, including four suicide bombers belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij, were sent to hell in Spinwam,” while another ten were killed in Ghaki.

A large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered during the follow-up search operations. The ISPR identified Fitna al Khwarij as the state’s designated term for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The statement added that five soldiers were martyred in the intense clashes. They were identified as Havildar Manzoor Hussain (35, Ghizar), Sepoy Nauman Ilyas Kiyani (23, Poonch), Sepoy Muhammad Adil (24, Kasur), Sepoy Shah Jehan (25, Vehari), and Sepoy Ali Asghar (25, Pakpattan).

“It is significant to point out that these infiltration attempts are being carried out while delegations of Pakistan and Afghanistan are engaged in talks in Türkiye, casting doubts on the intentions of the Interim Afghan Government,” the ISPR said. It reiterated Pakistan’s demand that Kabul ensure effective border management and prevent its soil from being used by militants, as required under the Doha Agreement.

The military reaffirmed that its “relentless counterterrorism campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam” would continue to eliminate all foreign-sponsored terrorism.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the security forces for thwarting the infiltration attempts and paid tribute to the martyred soldiers. PM Shehbaz said the entire nation “salutes the security forces for their courage and sacrifices” and reiterated the government’s resolve to eradicate terrorism from the country.
