KARACHI: In a late-night operation that has intensified the crackdown on armed crime in the city, police gunned down six suspected robbers during an alleged encounter in Pak Colony on Thursday night — a swift response to intelligence that targeted a dangerous gang linked to multiple violent robberies.

South Zone DIG Syed Asad Raza confirmed the incident, stating that a police team raided a criminal hideout based on credible information. When the suspects opened fire upon sensing the raid, officers returned fire in self-defense. The exchange ended with six suspects dead and two policemen wounded by bullets.
