Islamabad — The opposition alliance Tehreek-i-Tahafuz-i-Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) announced on February 18, 2026, that it would call off its days-long sit-in outside Parliament House, citing a slight improvement in PTI founder Imran Khan’s eyesight, while continuing to press for full access to his personal physicians and family.

Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, flanked by NA Opposition Leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai, PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan, and PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, addressed a press conference after a Supreme Court hearing on Imran Khan’s cases. Abbas said there had been “a minor improvement” compared to earlier reports, when vision had “gone completely — just a little bit.”

Key Highlights

  • TTAP ends sit-in outside Parliament House.
  • Continues demand for Imran Khan’s personal doctors’ access.
  • Slight improvement in Imran’s eyesight noted.
  • Demands: confidential medical exam by Dr Aasim Yusuf and Dr Faisal Sultan.
  • Certified medical reports to be shared with personal physicians.
  • Regular follow-up exams and no government pressure.
  • SC adjourned multiple Imran Khan cases indefinitely.
  • KP CM Sohail Afridi met Imran’s sisters to discuss health, judicial matters.

He criticised the government for not involving Imran’s family or longtime doctors Dr Aasim Yusuf and Dr Faisal Sultan. “If our rulers want to solve this issue… witnessing is necessary,” Abbas said, urging that the doctors be allowed to examine Imran independently.

The alliance shared five “immediate and unconditional demands” earlier in the day: complete confidential access to personal physicians for independent examination, certified copies of all medical tests, full authority for doctors to form opinions without government presence, regular follow-up examinations, and a written explanation from the government on any delays in treatment.

TTAP stressed that Imran’s health was a “human and constitutional responsibility,” not a political matter. “Any delay, excuses or staged actions will be unacceptable,” the alliance said.

Family and Party Leaders Express Concern

Imran’s sister Aleema Khan had earlier noted that despite the Supreme Court’s February 10 order for a medical exam and family calls by February 16, no written order had been received by Friday afternoon. The family insists formal directions are needed for specialists at Shifa International Hospital to examine Imran under his own doctors.

KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi met Imran’s three sisters — Aleema, Noreen Niazi, and Uzma Khanum — to discuss his health, judicial matters, and related challenges. The PTI said the meeting focused on the former prime minister’s condition and ongoing legal issues.

Supreme Court Proceedings

Earlier in the day, TTAP leaders — Achakzai, Abbas, Gohar, and Raja — reached the Supreme Court to show solidarity during hearings on Imran Khan’s cases. The court again denied PTI leader Latif Khosa a meeting with Imran and adjourned multiple cases indefinitely.

The sit-in began after Friday prayers, with leaders vowing to continue until Imran is shifted to Shifa International Hospital for urgent eye treatment. Heavy police contingents remained deployed at Parliament House and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa House.

The TTAP framed the protest as a stand against alleged negligence and lack of transparency in Imran Khan’s treatment. With the sit-in now ending, the alliance indicated it would explore “different measures” in the next stage while keeping the focus on securing proper medical care.
