ISLAMABAD – November 7, 2025

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has denied any role in a recent medical college admissions scam, clarifying that the individual arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), a driver named Sadam Hussain, had no involvement in the admission process.

In an official statement, the council emphasized that Hussain, a low-ranked support staff member performing general driving duties, had no access to operational or decision-making sections, including admissions, registration, or policy matters.

“Upon receiving complaints regarding alleged misconduct, an internal departmental inquiry was initiated. The employee was suspended and his salary stopped in accordance with internal procedures,” the PMDC said.

The council also reiterated that admissions to medical and dental colleges are entirely managed by provincial universities, and PMDC’s role is limited to providing regulatory guidance.

“PMDC has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, fraud, and misuse of authority. We acted swiftly to ensure accountability and fully supported the FIA investigation,” the statement added.

The PMDC further advised students and parents to avoid unauthorized intermediaries and rely only on official council channels for admission-related guidance.

This clarification comes after reports circulated regarding the arrest of a PMDC official in connection with the scam, which the council firmly rejected.
