DERA MURAD JAMALI — Three separate explosions struck Balochistan’s Mach Town and Mastung district on Friday, leaving one person injured and prompting a security response amid brief exchanges of gunfire.

Police said a powerful blast ripped through Ada Mach Bazaar in Mach Town, injuring one individual and damaging nearby properties. According to officials, the explosion was caused by an improvised device planted by unidentified assailants. The force of the blast shattered the windowpanes of surrounding shops and houses, spreading panic in the busy market area.

Security personnel and first responders reached the scene shortly after the explosion, cordoning off the area and launching a search operation.

In Mastung, two more blasts were reported at Major Chowk around the same time. Officials confirmed the explosions but said there were no casualties. Following the blasts, an exchange of fire occurred between unidentified armed men and security forces deployed in the vicinity.

The circumstances surrounding the Mastung explosions remained unclear as authorities continued to investigate. Law enforcement agencies launched a sweep of the area, but no group had claimed responsibility for the attacks at the time of reporting.

Balochistan has seen sporadic violence in recent months, with security forces frequently targeted in attacks blamed on militant groups. Friday’s incidents reinforced concerns about the province’s volatile security environment, particularly in districts where insurgent activity has persisted.

Police said investigations into all three blasts were underway, while security in the affected areas had been tightened in the wake of the incidents. Authorities did not immediately provide further details about the nature of the explosive devices or the motive behind the attacks.

The identity of the injured person in Mach had not been disclosed as of Friday evening, though officials said the victim was receiving medical treatment and was out of danger.
