Farah Gogi, Husband Booked for Land Fraud in Gujrat Housing Society

Gujrat — Gujranwala Sadar police have registered a case against Farhat Shahzadi alias Farah Gogi, her husband Ahsan Jameel Gujjar, his father Iqbal Gujjar (a former Punjab minister from PML-N), and several others for alleged fraud and illegal sale of official land in G Magnolia Housing Society.

The FIR was lodged on February 17, 2026, under sections 420, 468, 471, 441, 447, and 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code on a complaint by Mirza Babar, estate officer of the Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA).

Key Highlights

  • Farah Gogi, husband Ahsan Jameel Gujjar, father-in-law Iqbal Gujjar booked.
  • Case filed under fraud, forgery, trespass, and other PPC sections.
  • Accused allegedly sold land reserved for park, graveyard, school, and public use.
  • Land transferred to GDA for public purpose but illegally plotted and sold.
  • Society developed extension block without approval and sold plots.
  • Gogi and husband believed to be abroad; linked to alleged corruption during PTI govt.

According to the complaint, the land in question was officially allocated for public amenities — park, graveyard, school, and other community facilities — and transferred to the GDA for that purpose. Despite this, the owners and management of G Magnolia Housing Society illegally carved it into residential plots and sold them to buyers.

The society, originally developed in 2005, also created and sold plots in an unauthorised extension block without obtaining approval from the relevant authorities.

Police sources said Gogi and her husband are believed to be settled abroad. They have also been accused in the past of influencing postings and transfers of officials in Punjab during the PTI-led government under Usman Buzdar, allegedly to facilitate corrupt practices.

The case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. No arrests have been reported so far, as the main accused are said to be outside the country.

The development highlights ongoing issues of illegal land grabbing and unauthorised housing schemes in Punjab, where public land is often misused for private profit. The Gujranwala Development Authority has been pushing to reclaim such encroachments, with several similar cases under review in the region.

Authorities have urged affected plot buyers to approach the GDA or police with documentation. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
