On Friday, April 3, 2026, a cowardly suicide attack by Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP) targeted the Domail Police Station in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. While high-alert security measures prevented the attacker from breaching the police installation, the resulting explosion devastated the surrounding civilian population.
The Attack: Target and Casualties
According to security sources and rescue officials:
- The Incident: A suicide bomber attempted to target the police station but was forced to detonate his explosives outside the perimeter due to strict security cordons.
- Martyrs: Five civilians were martyred in the blast. Tragically, the victims include three women and one child.
- Injuries: Four other civilians sustained serious injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment.
- Damage: The blast caused significant damage to nearby civilian structures. Local volunteers and rescue teams are currently working to clear debris from the affected buildings.
Security & Government Response
- Counter-Terrorism Operations: Security forces have cordoned off the Domail area and launched a large-scale search and strike operation to track down any facilitators.
- National Action Plan: Authorities reaffirmed that operations under the National Action Plan will continue unabated until the “last remnants of the Khawarij” are eliminated from the region.
- Prime Minister’s Condemnation: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued a strong statement condemning the attack, labeling it a “cowardly act” against peace-loving citizens. He reiterated the government’s resolve to completely eradicate terrorism from Pakistani soil.
