ATC Rawalpindi Issued Aleema Khan’s Non-bailable Arrest Warrants

Due to her absence in court during the hearing of the case regarding the 26 November protests, the Anti-Terrorist Court Rawalpindi issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Aleema Khan on Wednesday. 

It is the fourth time that an ATC court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan. This time, the court is hearing a case regarding the 26 November protests case. 10 of 11 suspects appeared before the court in a hearing, and it issued a warrant for the absent one.

On 26 November, protests saw around 10,000 PTI workers in Islamabad, with double the police personnel deployed to repel them. The protests turned violent, and after the clashes, the PTI leadership retreated, declaring it a temporary break.

Subsequently, under the various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, FIRs were registered against various PTI workers and leaders, including Aleema Khan. This case was registered at the Police Station of Sadiqabad and was scheduled for hearing on 22 October 2025.

Interestingly, the report submitted by the police officials to the court regarding Aleema Khan’s absence stated that she had gone into hiding. The court issued a show-cause notice to  Superintendent of Police (Rawal Division) Saad Arshad and Deputy Superintendent of Police Naeem for filing a “bogus report”. The court observed that Aleema Khan has been sighted outside Adiala and also exposed herself to various media outlet representatives. The court summoned both officials to the next hearing to clarify their stance on the issue.

The court has also ordered the confiscation of the surety bonds of the guarantor in this case, and Aleema has been directed to submit new surety bonds worth 1 million rupees.

The hearing has been adjourned till 24 November.
