CTD Official Found Shot Dead in Panjgur, Two Killed in Turbat Attacks

GWADAR: A Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) official was found shot dead in an abandoned area of Panjgur district on Sunday, while two other individuals were killed in separate targeted attacks in Turbat, police reported.

The deceased CTD official has been identified as Khalil Ahmed, who was reportedly kidnapped at gunpoint from the Tusp area of Panjgur. His body, showing signs of torture and gunshot wounds, was discovered dumped in an isolated location in Tusp.

Local residents alerted authorities to the presence of the body, prompting police to rush to the Chakul locality on the outskirts of Panjgur town. The body was taken into custody and shifted to the district hospital for examination.

Following the discovery, family members staged a protest outside the office of the District Police Officer in Panjgur, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible. They alleged that authorities had been informed of the abduction but failed to rescue the official. After negotiations with police and district administration officials, the protest ended peacefully. Police confirmed that a formal investigation into the killing is underway. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

In separate incidents in Turbat, armed assailants on motorcycles killed two men. Muhammad Naeem was targeted in the Kahirabad area and was killed on the spot, while another man was shot dead in the Absar locality. Both attackers fled the scene immediately after the shootings. Police stated that in both cases, the victims were fired upon from close range, resulting in instant deaths.

Authorities have launched investigations into the killings in both Panjgur and Turbat, and security forces are working to apprehend the perpetrators.
