KP IGP Zulfiqar Hameed said the first explosion hit a police checkpost where no officers were stationed, while the second blast — an IED attack — targeted a responding police vehicle, killing three officers on the spot.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the fallen heroes, saying their sacrifices “will not go in vain” and reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to crush terrorism.
The twin blasts mark another deadly strike amid a fresh wave of militancy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following multiple TTP attacks in Bannu, South Waziristan, and other districts over the past week.
Security has been tightened across the region as police and security agencies launch search operations to trace the perpetrators.
