Balochistan: Three police officers, including SHO Imranuddin, were injured on Sunday when an improvised explosive device (IED) struck a police convoy near a cemetery in Hangu’s Doaba area. The explosion occurred during a search operation in Paracha graveyard near Karbogha. Head Constable Jihad Ali and constable Abid Ali were also wounded and all three received treatment at Hangu’s district headquarters hospital. The attack came after a federal interior ministry alert on Friday warning of a motorcycle-borne explosive threat targeting security personnel between Hangu and Orakzai districts. Authorities had urged heightened security in the area.

In a separate operation in Tank district, security forces killed Abu Dujana, an Afghan national identified as an IED specialist, during an intelligence-led raid in Lali Khel. The raid recovered a substantial cache of explosives, including a 30kg IED, a suicide vest, grenades, small arms, and ammunition. Although two to three militants escaped despite sustaining injuries, the operation successfully neutralized the explosives.

Meanwhile, in Balochistan, locals in Kalat district’s Johan area alerted authorities to a 10kg explosive device planted under a bridge, potentially intended to destroy critical infrastructure. Security forces safely defused the locally manufactured bomb, and further investigations are ongoing.
