Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has officially launched the Nigehban ATM Card distribution for the 2026 Ramadan Relief Package. This Rs 40 billion initiative targets 4 million families across Punjab to provide financial ease during the holy month.

Unlike previous years, the assistance is provided via a digital ATM card, ensuring dignity and eliminating the need for long queues.

How to Check Your Eligibility

The program primarily uses data from the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER). You can verify your status using one of these two methods:

• Via SMS (Fastest): Send your 13-digit CNIC number (without dashes) to 8070. You will receive a reply confirming if you are eligible, under verification, or ineligible.

• Online Portal: Visit the official PSER website at pser.punjab.gov.pk and enter your CNIC to check your registration status.

How to Get and Activate Your Card

If you are declared eligible, follow these steps to receive your funds:

1. Collection: Distribution is organized at the Tehsil level. District administration teams are also conducting doorstep deliveries in many areas.

2. Activation: Once you receive your Nigehban Card, you must activate it. You can do this at:

   • One of the 160 dedicated centers established by district administrations.

   • Over 20,000 branchless banking outlets (HBL Konnect, AlfaPay, or UBL Omni).

3. Withdrawal: After activation, you can withdraw the Rs 10,000 cash from any Bank of Punjab (BOP) ATM or designated agent.

Eligibility Criteria at a Glance

To qualify for the Rs 10,000 grant and the free ration bag, the following conditions generally apply:

• Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Punjab (verified via CNIC).

• Income: Monthly household income should be below Rs 60,000.

• Poverty Score: A Poverty Means Test (PMT) score generally below 30–35.

• Exclusions: Government employees, taxpayers, and owners of luxury vehicles are typically ineligible.
