KARACHI (April 14, 2026) — The federal government and Google have officially launched “AI Seekho 2026,” a nationwide program designed to provide Pakistani youth with free training in artificial intelligence. The initiative, a collaboration with the Ministry of IT, Telenor, and Innovista, aims to transition the country toward a product-based digital economy.
Focus on vibe coding and natural language
The program introduces “vibe coding” to Pakistan, a modern approach to software development where users build applications using natural language and problem-solving rather than traditional complex programming. Utilizing platforms like Google AI Studio and Google Antigravity, participants will learn to create functional software through agent-driven tools.

Two-phase training and hackathon
The initiative is divided into two distinct phases to maximize learning and practical application:
Phase One (Online Challenge): Running from April 11 to May 3, participants will master generative AI fundamentals. They must submit projects in either the “Build an App” (App Banao) or “Build a Game” (Game Uthao) tracks.
Phase Two (Physical Hackathon): High-performing developers will compete in person across Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Using Google Antigravity, teams will build mobile solutions for a chance to win from a Rs 2.5 million prize pool.
Economic vision for a young population
Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima stated that the government has declared AI a core priority, noting that 65 percent of Pakistan’s population is under the age of 35. The vision is to move away from a legacy service-based economy and empower young professionals—including doctors, lawyers, and artists—with the digital skills needed to compete globally.
