In a statement, the Foreign Office said such actions are a “clear violation of international law and a deliberate attempt to sabotage peace and stability in the region.” The FO added that forced displacement and settlement expansion once again demonstrate Israel’s “complete disregard for international humanitarian and human rights law.”
The condemnation comes amid growing global concern, as Israel has already faced accusations of genocide and of using starvation as a weapon of war. The ongoing conflict, which began in October 2023, has killed over 64,000 Palestinians, the majority of them women and children.
Pakistan urged the international community to take urgent steps to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where children are suffering acute malnutrition as aid supplies remain blocked.
The FO reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, calling for a sovereign, independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Other Muslim countries have also voiced alarm. Egypt has strongly rejected any move to push Palestinians southward toward the Rafah crossing, while Saudi Arabia issued a similar statement denouncing Israel’s actions and backing Cairo’s stance.
The war’s impact is also spilling into the West Bank, where violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians has sharply increased in recent weeks.
