4 Martyred, Including AC Miranshah and 2 Policemen, in Attack on Assistant Commissioner’s Vehicle in Bannu

Bannu, December 2, 2025 – Unknown militants opened fire on the official vehicle of Miranshah Assistant Commissioner Shah Wali in Bannu Cantonment area on Tuesday, killing three people, including Assistant Commissioner Miranshah, two policemen, and injuring two others.

Militants Target Assistant Commissioner in Bannu

Regional Police Officer spokesperson Kashif Nawaz confirmed the incident to reporters, saying the assistant commissioner’s convoy was ambushed shortly after entering Bannu district. North Waziristan’s Miranshah Assistant Commissioner was travelling with a police escort when militants sprayed the vehicle with bullets.

Rising Security Challenges in KP

The attack comes just a few days after incidents in Hangu left three policemen martyred. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continues to face a surge in militant activity since the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) called off its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.
Security forces have stepped up operations across the province, but law-enforcement personnel and government officials remain prime targets for militant groups.
