An under-construction girls’ primary school was destroyed after unidentified assailants detonated explosives in the Gara Budha area of Tank district on Friday, police said.
According to officials, explosive material had been planted beneath the school’s boundary wall and several classrooms. The blast caused extensive damage to the nearly completed building. A bomb disposal unit later examined the site and collected forensic evidence to determine the nature of the explosives used.
Authorities have yet to identify those responsible or establish a motive behind the attack. The incident has sparked concern among residents, particularly parents, who have demanded the swift arrest of the perpetrators and called for stronger security measures to protect educational institutions.

Separately, four employees of a mobile phone company who were abducted earlier this week were recovered safely on Friday. Police said the workers had been kidnapped from the Garah Bakhtiyar area while transporting tower and generator equipment.
Following the abduction, a search and strike operation was launched across the region under the supervision of senior police officers. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Nawab Khan told reporters that the captives were released unconditionally by their abductors in Garah Mastan village of Kulachi tehsil, apparently due to fear of the ongoing operation.
Police said a case has been registered at the Counter-Terrorism Department police station against unidentified suspects. Officials reaffirmed their resolve to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of citizens in the region.
