Overnight between March 27 and 28, 2026, the Iranian military targeted Unit 6900, a specialized Israeli logistics and aerial refueling support hub, using long-range suicide drones.Drones also struck a “gathering center” of Israeli special forces at the airport. Ben Gurion remains closed to commercial traffic until at least April 16.
Satellite imagery confirmed the destruction of three U.S. KC-135 Stratotankers and significant damage to a logistics fleet at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia following an IRGC missile barrage.U.S. officials confirmed 10 service members were wounded (2 seriously) in the Al-Kharj attack. In Tel Aviv, emergency services reported one civilian fatality from falling debris.
The conflict, now entering its fifth week, has transitioned from symbolic strikes to a deliberate “War of Logistics.” By targeting aerial refueling units (tankers) and transport hubs, Iran is attempting to ground the Israeli and U.S. air fleets by cutting off their fuel and equipment supply lines.
Targeting the “Heart of Transport”: Unit 6900
The Iranian Army’s Statement No. 45 identified Unit 6900 as the primary target in Tel Aviv:
- Role of Unit 6900: This unit is responsible for the maintenance and logistics of the Israeli Air Force’s (IAF) heavy transport and tanker aircraft.
- Strategic Intent: Iranian officials stated that destroying these “logistical lines” directly impairs Israel’s ability to conduct long-range offensive operations into Iran.
- Ben Gurion Impact: While the airport was already under heavy restrictions, the strike on the “gathering center” at the terminal has led the Israeli Transport Ministry to officially extend the airport’s closure until mid-April.
The Al-Kharj Massacre: Crippling the U.S. Tanker Fleet
The IRGC’s “84th Wave” of Operation True Promise 4 was its most successful strike on a regional U.S. base to date:
- The Weaponry: A combination of solid-fueled missiles and suicide drones was used to penetrate the Patriot and THAAD defense systems at Prince Sultan Air Base.
- The Damage: Independent satellite imagery shows at least three KC-135 Stratotankers completely destroyed on the tarmac. These planes are the “gas stations in the sky” for U.S. fighter jets; their loss significantly reduces U.S. air endurance over the Persian Gulf.
- Human Cost: 10 U.S. service members were wounded. This brings the total U.S. casualty count in the month-long war to 13 killed and over 300 wounded.
Regional “Evacuation” Warnings
Following the strikes, the IRGC issued a chilling directive to neighboring nations:
- “Stay Away”: Citizens in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain have been told to avoid proximity to U.S. military installations.
- Hostile Host Status: Iran has warned that any country allowing its soil to be used for “aggression against the Islamic Republic” will see its own industrial and energy sectors targeted next.
An unnecessary war has been extended to almost a month. Israel vs Iran has been stretched to being World war. Trump has made sure that every country suffers its consequences. Peace lovers can’t do anything. Stupidity at the best. All countries must unite and stand against US
