Police Operations in Balochistan Yield 1,698 Arrests in One Month

Quetta — Balochistan Police have registered 352 cases and arrested 1,698 suspects during a month-long special crackdown targeting drug peddlers, proclaimed offenders, absconders, and serious criminals, recovering kidnapped persons and massive caches of narcotics and weapons across the province.

Launched on the special directives of Inspector General of Police Mohammad Tahir Khan, the operations spanned all ranges and districts, focusing on dismantling criminal networks and restoring public safety.

  • 165,000 rupees cash, 4,950 litres Iranian diesel, 21,376 litres petrol seized.
  • 2,010 cartons Iranian cigarettes, 68 banned medicines confiscated.

The drive netted 204 narcotics cases with 213 arrests, alongside 148 cases against armed criminals leading to 147 detentions and weapon recoveries. Authorities highlighted the safe rescue of six kidnapping victims in Quetta and other areas.

Police also seized large quantities of smuggled Iranian fuel, cigarettes, and illegal medicines, underscoring efforts to curb cross-border crime and protect public health.

Balochistan Police reiterated their commitment to safeguarding lives and property, utilising all resources with public cooperation to prevent crime and maintain a peaceful, secure environment throughout the province.

This sustained operation demonstrates the province’s resolve to dismantle criminal syndicates, recover illicit assets, and ensure law and order — a vital step toward stability and progress for Balochistan and Pakistan as a whole.
